Consumed

I can't believe that its been almost a month since I've blogged. As usual I've been caught up in the "I don't have anything important to say" mode and have let a month of life go undocumented.

I guess the overarching issue from the past month has been Laura and I applying to MNA's Church Planting Assessment Center. I can't really say that we are "going" to the Center because it doesn't work that way. MNA assembles our application, our references and several personality tests from us and then lets us know whether or not we are invited to come. It is an anxiety producing process and we've just begun.

There's a good chance that this news is new to you. For whatever reason, we haven't talked a lot about it. I guess it all sounds so tenuous to me. MNA has to invite us and then the Center spends a week picking us apart and might approve us to be church planters. Nothing definite about the whole thing.

That's enough for now, I've been thinking and praying about this for a while, so I'll post a few thoughts in the coming weeks about our desires to plant a church. Be praying for us, please!

What does "MNA" stand for?

MNA stands for Mission to North America. MNA is the PCA's home mission agency.

I'll be praying for you.... that God will ignore your request to leave our church. How's that?

But then again, I'm not very righteous, so God probably won't hear me anyway. ;o) HA!

Son,
Your Dad and I will be praying for you and Laura as you strive to make the right God-sent Choices in your lives. Your ministry at Community will be sorely missed.Go into this ministry only if you feel you can make a difference for the unsaved and the newly saved and the long time saved that needs a new direction. If it is meant from God, you will see all things fall into place.
Make sure both of you are up to the physical and mental struggle of starting new Churchs of a few people and going through the growing pains. In a lot of ways it is like being a parent. Talk with Ron and Debbie, Mike and Sharon, and Craig and Jamie. Ask for their sage advise and prayers.
Consider the impact it will have on your own family life. Know in your heart this decision while may not be easy feels right and you feel with God's help you can and will overcome the obstacles Satan puts in your path. For one thing I know for sure. Satin wants no more churchs or Christians. Know your enemy.
Our prayers are with you.
Mother
