Everyday life

Just in case you were under the illusion that my life was somehow spiritual or in some other way extraordinary...

Sunday May 13

I got early (6:45) and cooked omelets for the family for Mother's Day. I need to be at the church by around 8:00, but I dragged in at 8:15. The New Member's class I teach was great today; I love the material we use. Unfortunately I think I do a better job proclaiming the Gospel to myself than to the class participants. (At least someone's benefitting.)
I didn't get to hear all of the sermon today, bummer.

After church we went to my mom's for lunch. Steaks!! I believe that given enough time and the appropriate spices, my dad could produce a 2 x 4 pressure-treated board that could be cut with a fork. The lunch was great as was the time with Mom, Dad, Laura Kay and her family.

The late afternoon was nap time for Laura (a rarity) and a-doze-while-the-kid's-movie-is-on nap for me.

After my nap I spent about 30 minutes letting Eli beat me in a yu-gi-oh duel, and then it was time for monthly Session meeting.

At tonight's meeting we did all the normal stuff, spent an hour in Bible study/prayer, caught up old business, etc. The highlight of the evening was when Trace and Ginger came in to talk about their call to missions. The Session had to interview them and fill out a Mission to the World questionnaire on them. Wow! Who wants to answer questions about their finances, their Bible study habits, and their sin? Not me. But what an encouraging thing to hear how God is working in their lives, leading them down a path toward a battlefield of faith.

After the meeting I came home (about 10:00) and realized that I hadn't eaten supper. A hot dog and tater tots at 10:00!

Normally I would pass out about 11:00, but with the nap I will be going strong until at least 11:15 (Yawn)
