Today is Shove Tuesday, tomorrow Ash Wednesday.

I haven't grown up in a tradition that celebrates the liturgical calendar. To be honest, I've really never thought about it.

Recently, a friend and I have been talking about Lent, this season of preparation before Easter. I've done some reading and thinking, and maybe even a little praying around the subject. I don't have a handle on it yet, but I'm looking forward to the season. A time of repentance, of seeking the face of God. A time of reflection, yes upon my sin, and then upon the magnitude of God's grace.
